Hello all. Just to inform you that I purchased a FA-101. Plugged it in and all is great. I have installed an SSD boot drive, installed Ubuntu Studio 16:04 LTD. I am now delving in all the software included in the distribution as well as getting a better understanding of JACK. I now a an FCA202 and FA-101 plugged into my new firewire interface card. (will keep the FA-66 and see if I can identify the problem) Thank you to Jonathan for all the support. Hopefully I will be able to be off assistance to the group in the future. -----Original Message----- From: Jonathan Woithe [mailto:jw...@ju...] Sent: April-02-17 7:25 PM To: Marc Cayouette <mca...@st...> Cc: ffa...@li... Of course the negative side is that it tends to suggest that your FA-66 is broken. :-( > I then tried runnig Guitarix. I think running Ubuntu Studio would be a good first step because that distribution comes with things already configured for audio/video production use. This includes a "low latency" kernel. > Any suggestions? Give Ubuntu Studio a go, as you suggested. Without seeing the error messages reported by jack it's impossible to say what the problem might be. I suspect it might be at least partly due to the use of the generic kernel (as opposed to a low latency kernel), but this is nothing more than a guess. Hopefully Ubuntu Studio will provide a solid starting point and require fewer adjustments to get it working. Regards jonathan |
