Forwarded to the list. Thanks for your feedback Edward. ----- Forwarded message from Edward Diehl <di...@um...> ----- Date: Wed, 4 Dec 2013 09:35:58 -0500 From: Edward Diehl <di...@um...> To: Jonathan Woithe <jw...@ju...> Subject: Re: [FFADO-user] focusrite saffire pro 24 firmware update I recently updated the firmware on a Saffire Pro 24 to the latest version which comes with MixControl 3.3 (Win/Mac mixer from Focusrite), upgrading from what came with the previous version MixControl 2.4. I do not know how these versions relate to the version 2761 you quote. What I did was install MixControl 3.3 on my Windows partition and upgraded the firmware. However, I use the Pro24 in linux with ffado. Anyway here is my experience with ffado: MixControl 3.3 firmware: audio works, midi in broken, midi out works MixControl 2.4 firmware: audio works, midi in works, midi out broken I did not test all audio functions, in particular ADAT. By "broken" I mean sort of works, but the midi messages are garbled and events lost, and so not actually usable. Since I use the Pro24 with a midi keyboard I need midi in to work, so I had to revert to the firmware from MixControl 2.4. Focusrite support supplied me with a Windows program to do the firmware downgrade which I can supply to anyone who needs it.
