Not every packet needs to be acknowledged with an interrupt, but FFADO doesn't know exactly how many samples will be received in each packet, so there needs to be more than one interrupt per period to ensure that FFADO gets woken up shortly enough after a complete period has been received. Furthermore, the interrupts for the playback and capture streams are not guaranteed to happen at the same time. Regards, Clemens |
