Hi all, I have bought a Phonic Helix FW18 MkII a couple of months ago and I'm currently using it to record tracks for my band. I had to fall back to using Freebob because the FFADO driver had a bunch of problems. I now got it successfully compiled from Subversion, but I'm getting segfaults using the utilities in the 'tests' directory, and jackd exits with 'Aborted'. I'm attaching a trace of test-ffado ListDevices in the hope that this will shed some light on things for you (it wasn't meaningful for me unfortunately). The exact command line used was "strace -f ./test-ffado ListDevices > trace.log 2>&1" The jack debug logs are too large to go on the list so I uploaded them on my band's website. They were generated using jackd -R -dfirewire -v10 > jackd.log 2>&1 and jackd -R -dfirewire -v10 > jackd2.log 2>&1 (the same command, but the end of the output seems slightly different between the two runs, probably due to the scheduling of threads). http://www.avatarzenekar.hu/files/jackd.log http://www.avatarzenekar.hu/files/jackd2.log Unfortunately the mixer is in our rehearsal room / studio which has no internet connection, and I can't really take it home without the risk of altering my current settings. Because of this (and because maintaining things in working order is a must) it won't be the easiest to debug, but your help would be much appreciated. I can definitely try to gather more information offline and then post it to the list later. I'm using 64 bit Ubuntu Hardy, and I've built things from the following Subversion revisions: jack: revision 2519. libffado: revision 1255. The related libraries I can't remember exactly, they're either Ubuntu packages, or third-party Debian packages recompiled from source (for amd64): libraw1394-8 1.3.0-2 libiec61883-0 1.1.0-2ubuntu2 libavc1394-0 0.5.3-1build1 Uname -a tells me the following: Linux valkyrie 2.6.25-rc7vik #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Mar 29 14:38:07 CET 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux (I've compiled the kernel myself but I didn't make any modifications. Just tried to configure for low latency, and omitted modules I will never need) Let me know if you need more information and thanks for your help in advance. Cheers, Vik |
