Thanks again for the reply. 4.35ms is better than good enough indeed.. I got confused because I heard a rather big delay when tapping my mic and patching it to output directly through SuperCollider. It turned out I hadn't set the priorities of my rtclock and firewire device IRQ properly. I fixed that now and there's no noticable latency anymore. Sorry for the confusion...
