My Saffire stopped working on Feisty at some point, after I had installed the new firmware. Also, I was unable to find any mention of the firewire subsystem being changed in Ubuntu 7.10, so it may be safe to assume that the problem is the Focusrite firmware, unless you're also running the latest version. I still have a Feisty install on another partition and could experiment with both versions. On Feisty, I can start JACK with freebob but connections, while I can make them, seem to do nothing all of a sudden. On 7.10, however, JACK refuses to start with freebob because of the aforementioned sample rate error, which is presumably caused by the new firmware. Many thanks, Albert |
