There's a known issue working from PHP5 rpms (or .deb, etc.) and linking to tidy. Here's a workaround that prevents you from having to reinstall php5 from source (--with-tidy): http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/html-tidy/2006JulSep/0015.html
