Hi,
Basically, Kickstart 1.3 and indeed 1.2 do support
Amiga hard disks, where as WinFellow with these ROMs
doesn't. You do not need Kickstart 2.0x+ to use a
hard disk.
Under Kickstart 1.2 you need to boot from a disk to
get access to a hard disk, where as under 1.3, hard
disk booting is supported by the OS.
If real Amigas do this i think WinFellow should
too :) It's a shame because Kickstart 1.3 is more
compatible with some older games and apps; and having
a hard disk to store them apps on is useful.
Kickstart 2.04/5/3.0/3.1 make some things incompatible
as on real Amigas.
Thanks,
Nick Lamburn

Our Amiga-side code uses KS 2.0+ specific functions to
register the devices. This is the reason why the filesystems
and hardfiles are disabled for earlier Kickstarts.
Investigations would be needed to find out what can be done
about it. Torsten, I reassign this to you, and changed it to
feature request. Maybe you know more about it that I do?
