I think an installer is a good idea so long as it doesn't add too much to the size of the archive.
Can you make an example? (eg an archive containing a setup.exe or similar and/or a self-installing .exe)
I have uploaded the latest binary (0.35) compiled for a pentium (this has target lines and a few optimisations added)
-I fixed the release script so it's directory is fcclone.
You can upload files to our ftp space to share them (link from the project summary)
see the Developer's forum for how to upload to here (it uses secure ftp so you need scp which comes with ssh.)
Probably we would need an installer for each platform
For some platforms (*nix) 99% of systems come with a compiler so the installer could just be a script
to compile the source and copy the files to suitable directories.

I will make an installer for win9X/NT using Inno Setup (www.jordanr.dhs.org).
I know a guy that has used linux for 10-or-so years now, and knows his way around. When Fcomm is ready, I will ask him to make a compile/install script.
i have made the installer and such, but I can't figure out how to upload... I have tried all your guidance-posts regarding scp.
But unable to connect nevertheless. I get the impression I am not allowed to upload(?). Because scp says 'Unknown user', and complains: "Could not create directory '(null)/.ssh'".
also... couldn't find version 0.35.. (!? - something is wrong here)
What do you ppl think, should we use the standard Windows installer-type (ie: installshield and such), or should we use the more modern w2000 style installer? Could also make a self-extractor using zip/rar/ace/?? but I think installer is a bit more pro, right? (BTW, the current installer is in installshield-style (rough work), but it takes like 2 secs to convert to w2000...=)
If = win2000 then I need some graphics for the installer (if we are to spice it up a bit), a 55x55 fcomm bitmap (any colors). If you don't have any ideas, I will just compose one myself from images.bmp.
Do you have a directory called \home on the active disc? I found out that you need that directory on the disc where the active directory is, not just on the disc where the variable HOME points.
Strange? Yep, I think so...

To do a release you upload by ftp to a public directory.
Then you select the file from the list
Then you fill in the release text
then you fill in the changes text...
I forgot to fill in the texts earlier. Sorry :)
