This patch adjusts the icon size for the height if it's vertical aligned and IconsOnly is true, without the patch there is just unnecessary whitespace next to the icon. It would also be trivial to make this behavior only when the panel is "growing mode", where I have no doubts that the patched version should provide the wanted behavior.
I attached two screenshots which should make my issue clear.
