Although it looks like fbhelp is discontinued (version 0.8 is now almost 13 years old), there are still downloads going out and, apart from that, I like fbhelp.
As it is, the main loop is a busy loop that does not release the CPU!
I added some lines of code to all fbhelp_form_?.bas files to change that and it works perfectly:
if( len(k) = 0 ) then sleep 25 k = inkey end if
Apart from that, I had to change common.bi to only define FALSE, TRUE and NULL if they are not defined.
I have tested compiling and running fbhelp with latest versions of fbc last couple of years a while ago. And the changes are committed to fbc/master. Version should be 1.0. It's not discontinued, just laziness on my part for not making new packages. The latest builds for fbhelp format documentation should also work with fbhelp ver 0.8.

Plus a few minor fix-ups (like true/false) and compiling for 64-bit targets.
I can patch this in and make some new packages. Thanks Sockla.
