We started using FAN with centreon. In the configuration we are not able to add a snmp service for our hp switch (it has a unique community string).
We tried to send snmp commands from command line and get results (check_snmp and check_hp_cpu).
After we looked in configuration->commands, we saw that the plugins do not use any host community string.
We found that problem already in artifact ID 3367029.
But there is talk about using the standard community string (using lower c instead of capital C), not any specific.
So if our hosts are using different community strings, it is not possible to get results via snmp, because there is no input field for that string.
We added the variable $_HOSTSNMPCOMMUNITY$ by our own.
Or do we missunderstand anything?
Hi,
you can use an other ressource, for example $USER3$="yoursnmpcommunity"
After, link $USER3$ to command or service who use the command
Ok - that's a workaround for me. But what is with those others users, who have the same problem. I think it would be nice to fix that.
So that after the installation no more customizations are necessary.
