Hello, banning IPs via hosts.deny does not work due to a syntax error in the code. When fail2ban tries to ban IP-Adresses with hosts.deny, I allways get an error like: IP=219.8.53.66 && sed -i.old /ALL:\ $IP/d /ets/hosts.deny returned 200 The command is wrong, as you can see, the path is wrong, instead of /etc/hosts.deny the command uses /ets/hosts.deny I am using fail2ban-0.8.1 on debian sarge and installed it with the tarballs. I cannot find the python file, which has to be changed. Maybe developers can have a look on it. Anyway, I love fail2ban which is perfect to save my open ports, that are necessary for services like ssh, ftp or my mailserver.
