i have read that it is possible to check the apache-log-files. is there a option where i can use fail2ban to block ip´s how often (10 errors per second) produces 404-errors?
Not sure of the etiquette here, but I second this one. Either because of stupidity or exploitation attempts I see a lot of 404's on my server as well. I have blocked them with apache-noscript but in general one might be able to make it more generic.
I think the point here is not to ask how to do it, but to get it included in the default package. More filters makes it easier for people to plug in what they need.
