    I just did more research, and I found out I needed to go to Bluetooth & Devices/Cameras/Camera privacy setting/Let desktop apps access your camera and set it to on, and that made it work. Thank you for your help. I hope this will help others as well.

    Yes, I did follow the installation instructions and to the same directory as it's set by the software and i didnt tweak anthing. If FaceTrackNoIR is unable to start the faceAPI exe, there must be some security or 'installation location' issue IMO I dont know what to do ?

    It's correct that the faceAPI tracker starts a separate EXE, which actually does the tracking. And that the tracker only appears after installing the plugin pack. You should not run the faceapi_exe manually. Did you simply follow the installation manual: https://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/manual/installation.htm and install to the default location(s).     Hello, For the faceAPI tracker to work, it MUST be in the list. If it does not show up there, the DLL apparently was not found in the folder. Which FTNoIR_Tracker_<>.dll files do you find in the folder where FaceTrackNoIR.exe is found?

The current installer reports that it is not compatible with XP and suggests using an older version.     Hello Jeff, Thanks for your feedback. The keyboard shortcuts are implemented using DirectX and it may be possible that 'the game' is overriding them. So indeed: sometimes one must fiddle to find a working option... I hope the joystick buttons are OK for you?

    New FacetrackNoIR User. Headtracking's working fine. But I can't get the shortcuts to work. I'm using the default "HOME" key for Center "PGDWN" key for Game Zero, and default "END" key for Start/Stop. These do nothing in FSX:SE. What am I doing wrong?

    Okay. I see "PointTracker 1.1" under "Tracker Source". I was looking for "IR Point Tracker". Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm using the FSX SimConnect protocol. And started FTNoIR.     The Mobius and Maxwell are quite different devices. Maxwell has its own dedicated headtracking tab in the AudezeHQ program, but the Mobius only has Link Mode. Similarly, the Orbit S shares sensor data in the same way as the Mobius, through Link Mode, but there's no way to manually enter the IP address and port like on the Maxwell. I do recall that the problem is VC-redist related and the most common solution is removing and then re-installing them (by installing FaceTrackNoIR). But you have already tried that. In Fsx se, facetracknoir launches with top left window showing me and the yellow lines around my face and the top square moves with my head movement but in the sim it doesn't do anything.     Hello Brindley, I'm a bit rusty when it comes to DCS. I remember that it supports the TrackIR protocol (Freetrack 2.0 in FaceTrackNoIR). That should work fine. It's normal that you do not see video for Tobii: it only relays coordinates, not video... Maybe you can post a screenshot?

But the issue even reaches the FaceAPI as it forces itself to close just as its about to do the yellow outline of my face.     Problem solved. For reference, I am using an integrated laptop camera and an external monitor via HDMI cable. It will not launch when the HDMI cable is plugged in prior to opening the program.

    Installed the core setup .exe then the plugin setup, as instructed, and when I double click on the desktop icon.....nothing. Even if I run as admin. Uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, even rebooted my comp to no avail. I have noticed the desktop icon says v200, when the download file states v201_core. Not sure if that's got anything to do with it.

    Apparently your Visual Studio distributions got scrambled, by doing so many different things. Why did you un-install all these programs to begin with? The FaceTrackNoIR installer should install the VC++ redist it requires.     I have installed the core and plugin packs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Tobii 5, Win 11, 9800x3d, 4090. I get this error when I try to start: The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP120.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

    Yes, the video is shown from the Integrated Camera. even if I enable the Tobii Experience there a new device appears and it displays a video if I select it from the "Devices" menu too

    I just spent a half day working on this same idea for the Maxwell headset and was able to succesfully get head tracking to work in games.
