Hi all, after not doing anything for a while I looked at my Xultima4 project to remake u4 with the Exult engine (yeah another one of those remake projects, only I don't have any team members and no webpage for it - otherwise you could see what kind of and how many developers I still need :)). Anyway just looking at basic map editing I stumbled over the same old issues. So some of those are: - custom cheat-map (F3) support. The F3 map would come in handy on editing the world as it makes jumping to the general area you want to work on much easier as you see what there is (upposed to be). An easy example on how to do it could be to have Exult load on non-BG/SI games the map.shp in the patch/static dir. - a mass-object selector mode in Exult Studio. So you can select much more objects in one go. Similar as "pick for combo" only that you can choose a whole area. OR maybe in that mode, click on cunks to select all non-chunk objects. A nice tool I found for this project is the tlkconv program by the xu4 team. All the city conversations are stored in these tlk files and that tool converts them to xml (and back if wanted). to do the same.</topic> </person> This looks like it might be useable to convert to Exult usecode but as I'm not a programmer that is up to the coder searched for on the non-existing webpage.
