using:
ext2fsx 1.4d4
osx 10.4.10 8R2232
in preference pane i select to ignore permissions
but am still asked to authenticate when dragging
files to the ext3 partition.
if i try to delete files from the ext3 partition
i am able to select 'move to trash' but if i try
to empty the trash i get a complete system freeze.
rebooting finds the ext3 partition corrupted. it
must be rebuilt from scratch.
if i select 'eject' option for ext3 partition,
other (fat32) partition also ejects.
fwiw, this is how i'm using ext2fsx.
i have a lot of video files, some over 4gb in size.
i use apple, linux, and windows computers. the best
solution i could think of to be able to move larger
files between all three platforms has been to use
ext3 and intermediate drivers on the non-linux
systems to access the partition. the partition is
on an external usb drive which was originally set
up as fat32. i resized that partition to half its
original size. adding the ext3 partition.
i use ext2ifs on the windows boxes and ext2fsx on
the mac. as of this writing, i can work but i have
to be careful to only use the windows and linux
boxes to do any deletes from the ext3 partition.
thanks and i hope this is clear and not
inconveniently redundant.
