okay, i suppose the wrong is on apple's side. but non the less i report it here as a bug, sorrie for that.
i mount my Kubuntu Feisty ext3 partition on my macbook from within OSX using ext2fsx 1.4d4
no problem so far.
only when i start browsing my music something strange happens, the finder (and some other GUI file browsers) do not show the contents of some of the larger directories in my music collection. (all filenames are VFAT safe and ASCII only)
from the OSX terminal i do see the contents!
as it happens only for the large directories i took the challenge and split up a large directory that suffers from the problem into several smaller directories: this helped! the smaller directories where visible from the finder.
i dont know if it is about directory size (du -s), amount of subdirs or something else.
strange huh..

i have EXACLY the same problem - music (ogg and mp3) are not shown in finder, but i can access it via bash ..
its a partiton on an usb disk created via kubuntu 7.04.
in my case i have automaticly sorted music in this folder, meaning A ... Z as dir name and some folders with direct album names.
if you have any questions - just ask :)
