I think I figured out the problem. Microsoft retired SHA1 signatures. When I try and install the service I get . . .

D:\Downloads\Storage\Ext2Fsd\Setup>setup wxp amd64 System error 577 has occurred. Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.

Event Viewer is telling me the same. Until the driver signature is corrected Ext2Fsd, I believe, will not install and thus will not work.

Sorting out digital certificates is a bit above my skills grade. Who's for updating the digital signatures of all the binaries?
