Hello All, First off, I've never taken the time to thank Wolfgang, Jean-Marc, and all the others who contribute to eXist (forgive me for all the people I've omitted). For what I'm doing I would have had to pay many thousands of dollars for a comparable product if eXist wasn't around, and I'm not at all convinced that I would receive a better product. Okay, here's my issue. I run long off-line processes at night that move data from a RDMS to eXist, all told eXist is probably busy 10 to 12 hours a day. Most of the time it's a linear process that saves one file after another to the DB, but every now and again I have to run the processes so that two or three are saving individual files to a collection at the same time. Most of the time it's not a problem, but about once a night I get a mal-formed document saved to eXist. It goes in correctly (I've verified this) but when I go to retrieve it for a later processing it's mangled. Here's what it's supposed to look like: <Component IDENT ="1111" Type ="5" > <AllocationType > 0 </ AllocationType > <Nomenclature > xxxxxxxx </ Nomenclature > <Quantity > 1 </ Quantity > <PartX > 1 </ PartX > <PartY > 1 </ PartY > </ Component > But what I get out is: <Component IDENT ="1111" Type ="5" > <AllocationType > 0 </ AllocationType > <Nomenclature > xxxxxxxx </ Nomenclature > <Quantity > 1 </ Quantity > <PartX > 1 </ PartX > <PartY > 1 </ PartY > <Component IDENT ="1112" Type ="5" > <AllocationType > 0 </ AllocationType > <Nomenclature > xxxxxx </ Nomenclature > <Quantity > 1 </ Quantity > <PartX > 1 </ PartX > <PartY > 1 </ PartY > </ Component > </ Component > My documents aren't very large (less than 1MB) and they're pretty flat and regular. I know this will probably be fixed as time goes on, but I need a fix in the near term. As a best guess, would I be vulnerable to the same error if I were to save the documents to different collections? Currently the concurrent processes are all saving to the same collection. Any insight would be appreciated. Best Regards, Chris My Environment: Tomcat 5.0.16 eXist Snapshot March, 2nd 2004 Coldfusion MX 6.1 over SOAP BTW, is anybody else using SOAP and Tomcat? |
