I have one XSP page which wraps eXist output: <contentResult> <exist:result goes="here" /> </contentResult> When the second XSP page attempts to include output from the first, I get a the problem I described (of course). Is it possible to remove the XML declaration node using an XSL on the first XSP page? some other way? suggestions? I've tried half a dozen different ways to embed output from one page into another, but every method I've tried, I've run into issues with the order that the transforms take place. (My personal favorite was that xsp:request tags weren't getting processed first, so my xsl variables weren't getting set unless I hardcoded my values) the transformer trick sounds interesting, but I'm not sure where that would go... the exist output is coming from the xmlrpc "query" function as opposed to another XSP page, so there's no transformer present, but I could wrap it in one if I need to... thanks for the help so far Jon Williams Senior Web Developer Providence Software Solutions 531 Keisler Dr, Suite 102 Cary, NC 27511 [ph] (919) 854 1800 x208 [fax] (919) 854 1806 jwi...@pr... http://www.providencesoftware.com -----Original Message----- From: Michael Beddow [mailto:mbn...@mb...] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 6:30 PM To: Exi...@li... But if Jon is trying to output a file that has an xml declaration anywhere within it, simply leaving off the xml declaration in the only place it's allowed won't help. The xml declaration can be left off altogether, but if present it has to be the very first thing in the file, otherwise the output just isn't xml.
