I switched from POST to PUT yesterday, so it should now be possible to save large documents via eXide (limited only by browser memory). There are many more changes and I need some further testing (and documentation) before publishing the version. For now you can download a beta from here:

http://exist-db.org/exist/apps/public-repo/public/eXide-1.1beta.xar

You'll also need to replace shared-resources with 0.3.3 and clear your browser cache afterwards:

http://exist-db.org/exist/apps/public-repo/public/shared-resources-0.3.3.xar

Please report if saving larger resources works for you, in particular on windows.
