Hi Torsten, Sure, happy to help another TEI user dive into eXist! This is probably a question of "serialization". By default, eXist announces to the browser that it's delivering plain XML, but to get it to declare HTML, add this serialization declaration: declare option exist:serialize "method=xhtml media-type=text/html"; The relevant documentation is at http://demo.exist-db.org/exist/xquery.xml#serialization.
