I would first check the data directory to see if the range index data file (values.dbx) is empty or not. If it has just 8k or so, chances are good that your index definition is not applied at all. If an index was created and is used, you should get some trace log output concerning index use in your logs when querying (assuming that you enabled trace logging - see my previous email). If there are no such messages, the index is not used. In general, if you want to configure an index on collection /db/foo, the collection.xconf should be stored into /db/system/config/db/foo. Please also note that you need to reindex the collection (using the Java admin client) to apply the new configuration to existing documents, but not when you add new documents. Wolfgang |
