Another note: document-uri() will only work if you pass it a document
node. Passing any other node will result in the empty sequence. This
behavior is confusing (I still run into that trap myself from time to
time), but it is definitely required by the XQuery spec. There's an
easy way to make sure you have the document node: just call root() on
the node you pass:

document-uri(root($x))
