Hi all, Does anyone have experience assigning eXist lots of memory (> 1.5 G) under Windows? I've been trying to ascertain the optimal maximum memory settings for eXist running under Windows Server 2003 \ (SP2) Standard Edition, with 4 GB of RAM. Several people have suggested links: - Dannes (via Wolfgang) has pointed me to http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx. - Loren (via Dan) has pointed me to http://weka.wiki.sourceforge.net/Java+Virtual+Machine. What I've gleaned is that we can safely assign eXist an -Xmx of 1350M. Anything above that, and we're straying into unknown territory. Has anyone tried this? We're basically trying to give eXist as much memory as possible in order to withstand more traffic. Memory is one prong in a multi-pronged effort to optimize queries and indexes, use browser caching, debug, and improve stability/recovery. Thanks for your ideas, Joe |
