[Exist-open] Is it possible to call Runtime.getRuntime().exec("...") through java bindings?

Hi all,

We want to use eXist as an automation server (on Windows). We display
reporting information together with the corresponding actions. These
actions are typically batch files.

Is it possible to launch those batch files using xquery java bindings?
Any suggestion is welcome.
