You can, as you discovered, override this in a REST GET i/f with the _howmany parameter and/or shift the chunk start boundary within the result set by assigning a startat value. You can repeatedly submit the same query with different startat param values without eXist repeating the query itself, since it caches the results first time round. The only additional overhead is serialization time, which is dependent mainly on how big a chunk you request in a single transaction Michael Beddow |
