Yes, removing a document depends on the collection size: removing a doc from a collection containing many resources is slower than removing it from a small collection. This is a known problem and I have some ideas on how to improve it. In the meantime, splitting the collection into smaller subcollections may help. On the contrary, if you have lots of collections, try to increase the collectionCacheSize. > - The JVM is set to 1024m and the eXist cacheSize="256M". Is there some > more tuning which may help? Check the "buffers" statistics provided on http://localhost:8080/exist/status. If the ratio between hits and fails is bad (i.e. fails is not much smaller than hits), you may think about increasing cacheSize. > - There also appears to be slow performance retrieving documents from the > Cocoon pipeline using docId: > > <map:part > src="xmldb:exist:///db/netvisn/content/{1}"/> I don't know why this should become slow. We would need to look at it with a profiler. Wolfgang |
