My experience was that even if I added small documents, one-at-a-time, via 
xmlrpc, the eXist stand-alone server memory usage still monotonically grew, 
until the run died. I never could add 400,000 documents, even with a 512MB

I allocated 1GB of RAM to ensure that memory did not play a factor
in the response time.  I should be able to run this with less, although I am
not sure how far I can scale it down.  I will experiment.

matches my own experience. It it trying to hold all the indexes in memory or

something? If 187,646 listings take 1GB, is there any chance that eXist can
