I don't think that eXist is correctly binding the XMLRPC port in standalone mode. When I run "netstat -l | grep exist" I get: tcp 0 0 localhost.lo:exist-http *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:exist-xmlrpc *:* LISTEN (NB: I added exist-http and exist-xmlrpc to /etc/services at ports 90/91 respectively) If I go to one of my other machines and check the port access: $telnet wotan 90 Trying 192.168.61.2... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused ((As expected/desired)) $telnet wotan 91 Trying 192.168.61.2... Connected to WOTAN.rat5.net. Escape character is '^]'. ((Hmmm...)) I working on a rather high-security application where the eXist instance will run on the same machine as web server that will probably be in a DMZ. I'd still like to have as much access control as possible since eXist will be used to store confidential research data as well as patient data that falls under HIPAA privacy rules. -- Ross A.
