What would be the best file system to use (to the best of you're knowledge?). I use Ext3 at the time being. The problem is that I cannot back up my data, and I need to be gambling! :) When I / if I loose a disk I want to at least have a reasonable chance of getting it online again.=20 [snip] >It shouldn't. If you encounter any problems using AES on an EVMS volume,=20 >please let us know. I will! :)=20 More questions:=20 When I add / remove disks from a EVMS volume can I (provided there is enough free space) move all the data off one disk no matter where it is in the link set so that I can remove it and add another larger disk?=20 The basic problem being that my storage needs increases rapidly and all my IDE channels are in use so when I need to add more space I would have to copy some og the data over the network to another computer, then shrink the drive link volume, remove a disk, add a larger and then continue. |
