Like many distributions, Ubuntu doesn't upgrade to new upstream releases of its components in a stable release. Generally, it is more important to users that they have stability than newer software. For users who have a specific need for a newer version, we offer a backports repository. If you feel that EVMS 2.5.3 would be appropriate for this, contact the backports team. -- - mdz |
