So, I did not give up. Locking is still not okay, but I found a workaround=
=20
which _should_ not have any side effects. The kernel now is 2.6.11.12 and d=
id=20
not (yet) exhibit the failure. I cross my fingers.

But again: Can anybody tell me what those two bugs in the SuSE kernel=20
mentioned earlier are about?
