Hm, the latest kernel released is 2.6.5-7.155.29, so the .172 most likely is a test kernel. There is a beta snapshot of the SP2 kernel from Hubert Mantel's kernel-of-the-day ftp directory, but I am a little reluctant to put it on a production system.
