I have been asked to try and recover a system for a client.

In short they have:
  9 ATA drives (3ware controller which masks drives as scsi)
  Custom kernel (appliance type kernel)
  Evms
  Md
  raid5

Issue is that I cannot boot from the raid array (because of custom kernel)

Question:

If I introduce a boot drive to the system and install evms to kernel and
tools on that boot drive, will it be able to detect the raid array
automatically, or do I need to know what the original configuration was?
