It is most likely the qt IM(input method) related issues.
You could try to install something like qt-im(I am not sure the exactly name) module.

I know the problem happens when user uses scim. You should install a extra module(or patch) for qt.
It is actually a Qt problem instead of Eva. You may try fcitx and make sure remove scim before install fcitx. Good luck again!
