Do not use EvAlert on a computer other people have access to if you enable email. It requires your email username and password and if someone wanted to get this data they could.
Log into Evony and bring EvAlert to the forefront. Click on setup->Sample Pixel. You might notice a slight flicker as EvAlert takes a snapshot of the screen and then displays it. Click twice to choose your sample locations. Inside the bird icon will tell you if you are being attacked and just to the right of the wing tip will tell you if you have reeceived a new report. If you don't want to know about reports just click twice inside the bird.
Next, click Settings->Options. Make sure you've read Still to Implement as their are features on this page that are not fully functional. Decide if you would like to receive visual, audible or email alerts and check the appropriate boxes.
**Sound**
The first drop down box lets you choose between system tones and the PLAY button will let you sample them.
Alarm Interval sets the time between tones and Alarm Iterations sets how many tones will sound before going silent.
**Visual**
Choose Color let you decide which colors to alternate between.
**Email**
This works by sending an email from your email account. Enter the username and password used to access the account along with the other pertinant information. The Email Presets will fill in some of this data.
You can enter more then one email address separated by semicolons. Keep the default message or enter one of your own. If you are sending the email to someone else that is monitoring your account be sure to put something in the message that tells them it is about you. This person may be receiving emails from a few people and without specifics may not know who's account to check on.
When you are done entering the email information click the TEST button to see if your settings work. Their may be a short delay from when you press the Test button to when the program lets you continue setting options. If your settings don't work you will receive a message telling you this along with a possible specific error.
**Misc**
Reset after Notify allows you to set a time where EvAlert will start monitoring again.
Disable at allows you to set a time at which EvAlert will stop monitoring. This is useful because Evony does daily maintenance which causes you to go to the login page. This will throw a false alert.
Click OK to save your settings.
Once you've chosen the pixel locations and set your options click he SCAN button. EvAlert will do 5 second samples of your pixels and notify you if they change. It is important that you keep your evony screen exactly where it was when you selected your pixels. Minimizing the screen, bringing another program to the forefront or moving your mouse over the scan area will set off an alert.
At this time, EvAlert does no real error checking other then seeing if the email works. If you save your options with only part of the data filled in it will still try to run.
