[Eulergui-user] Installation difficulty

I am trying to run EulerGUI on Mac OS 10.9.5 with Java 8.
I am at this point only interested in EulerGUI for the N3 editor to 
check the validity of some N3 expressions, so I did not do the extra 
steps listed in the installation for the Yap Prolog engine.
I get the following error message when I try to start 
eulergui-2.0-jar-with-dependencies.jar

  TemporaryFrame.TemporaryFrame(): INTERNAL ERROR when initializing 
internal rule engine

Cause:
java.lang.RuntimeException: wrong class format
  WARNING

Does this mean I have to installed Yap prolog (even though I don't want 
to do reasoning)?
