Well that also highlights the slim advantage of using rom-o-matic to install Debian. If they are going to download 96kB of an Etherboot Debian bootstrap, why not download 1440kB of a Debian boot floppy which contains a real Linux kernel with a real routing table, user space clients like wget that can handle proxies, a DNS resolver library, etc? I mean this is pretty much what the SuSE FTP install does, except you have to type in the IP address of the FTP server. |
