I'm a new user to etherboot, as I'm sure you've seen before. I have tried this on two different computers (different NIC too) with no luck. The first system is a RealTek chipset... rtl8139 Second system is a 3com 509b ISA. I've used the following command line to make my boot disk, (This must work cuz my machines boot): cat floppyload.bin rtl8139.lzrom > /dev/fd0 I've compiled the sources myself from the etherboot-4.6.10 sources. On both systems I get the following: Probing ... [3c5x9] ... yada (probe fail) 3C5x0 board on ISA at 0x0300 - 10base2 Ethernet address: 00:A0....yada Searching for server DHCP.... <sleep> <sleep> The sleep message is repeated multiple times (7 or so) I am running a DHCP server from Redhat 7.0. I have a windows box obtain ipaddress correctly. I believe the version is dhcpcd-1.3.18p18 I cannon find anything in a log file to prove that the lzrom actually made an attempt to contact the dhcp server. The windows box has no problems obtaining an address. Any help would be appreciated, where as I would love to get this sweet technology working!!!! -Joe |
