Hi Miller I worked out. I believe it's a bug in v0.97. If I make from 0.97+ (current snapshot version), it does works! Thanks. You made me know a way of how to debug. make DEBUG=http bin/undionly.kpxe Thanks Best Regards Sean Lv Jie -----Original Message----- From: Miller, Shao [mailto:Sha...@yr...] Sent: 2009年3月28日 6:20 To: Sean Lv Cc: eth...@li...; eth...@li... Subject: Re: [Etherboot-developers] [Etherboot-discuss] Make undionly issue, http works unsteadily Good day Sean, Just curious: What version does gPXE report it is when you boot the one you made in RedHat Linux? Maybe you could try enabling debugging in your build with: make DEBUG=http bin/undionly.kpxe It's also possible that you don't need to use the 'dhcp net0' command in the script you showed in your e-mail. gPXE will already have received DHCP parameters if it was able to receive the gPXE script itself. Try removing that line and see what happens. Subject: [Etherboot-discuss] Make undionly issue, http works unsteadily Hi all I use following command in redhat linux to build my boot image. make bin/undionly.kpxe then I copy undionly.kpxe to TFTP Server and set DHCP option 67 to point this file. In the DHCP server, there is another Option 67 in User-class (gPXE) pointing to boot.gpxe (it's gpxe boot script). The boot.gpxe's content is list below, #!gpxe ifstat dhcp net0 kernel http://10.254.196.6/pxeboot/pxelinux.0 boot pxelinux.0 When I boot PXE client first time, it can boot to pxelinux menu. However, if I reboot PXE client immediately, it encountered some problem when executing following command in boot script. kernel http://10.254.196.6/pxeboot/pxelinux.0 Error information: Could not fetch http://10.254.196.6/pxeboot/pxelinux.0: Connecting timeout (0x4c0a6035) I tried to reboot PXE client again and again, and I got the same error. If I wait about 2 or 3 minutes and reboot, the PXE client could boot to pxelinux menu normally. I don not think it is due to the http server problem, I think there is something wrong when making undionly.kpxe file. Because I tried to get the boot image from http://rom-o-matic.net/, and this file works fine, it has no any unstable issue as my described above. Thanks in advanced.
