Your analysis in praat seems OK, because I can load your spectrum.dat file into espeakedit and get the correct results which match your original WAV file. The formant frequencies are: f1 264 f2 2280 f3 3460 This is slightly "closer" than eSpeak's standard "i" vowel. The higher formants are considerably different. That may be partly because it's from a different speaker. Here's a vowel file which I have made from your spectrum.dat: http://espeak.sf.net/test2/i_fr Do you get the correct formant values when you open it into espeakedit? You'll probably need to adjust the heights of formant peaks so that the tone matches other vowels, otherwise the "i" sound may be a noticeable mis-match when you speak text. So, it seems that something is wrong when you load the spectrum.dat file into espeakedit. But the spectrum.dat file is OK. |
