Hello, I am currently testing the latest version of eSpeak at maximum speed. I think it's stil understandable well. Ofcourse for continuos reading I wouldn't use this speed but as a speech output for a screen reader this is great. I am now running self-compiled library version with NVDA. Note for other NVDA users: Currently the maximum speed value is hardcoded in NVDA's synth driver so it'll need a change once this enhancement is released as a part of the stable version. On a different issue: I haven't been testing eSpeak regularly recently. Today I have updated from eSpeak 1.43.03 straight to the 1.43.46 and noticed quite dramatic change of some sounds. E.G. z, c, l and maybe s letters sound a bit differently in some positions than they used to. I've tested with czech and slovak voices. I don't know how to better look at the issue and try to resolve possible conflicts. Can you remember changes which might have affected this? It's difficult for me to come up with a list of problematic words at this point. Most frequently this can be observed while reading english text with eSpeak set to one of these languages. Yes this may sound strange, but it's very frequent. I am not of course getting english like spelling nor I am expecting it. there is no automatic detection so I am simply not switching voices when language of the text changes and I've got used to it eventhough it's a strange configuration. Thanks for the help Greetings Peter On 21.6.2010 12:13, Jonathan Duddington wrote: > I have made some changes which I hope give a small improvement to > eSpeak at faster speeds.
