It would be preferable if the browser windows did not
have a taskbar entry, as they come and go when
minimising/restoring VC.

    I've tried the experimental.zip, but the browser windows still
    appear in the taskbar.

    did you "unchecked" the "create taksbar entry " in the
    appearance property panel ?

    anyway i just uploaded another preview zip 2 minutes ago ;)
    which should make the hide-if-not-active more reliable...
    you might download that as well.

    No I didn't uncheck the option; you didn't tell me there was
    one!

    I'll download the new preview and see what that's like.

    Not tried the newer preview yet, but I've unchecked the
    option, and the window no longer has a taskbar entry, so it's
    OK. (Though I did find I had to reload my workspace to get it
    change)
