thanks for the response. 

it's no longer a functional problem for me: i have edited yaws.conf to
point to my own stuff via a second <server> definition at a different
port using a different docroot; it's a bit of a hack, but at the same
time, it's a nice hack. :-) i'm glad to know that the feature is still
intended to be there, and i can wait for the next release.
