The new erc-backend.el incorrect distinguishes between command arguments specified before the colon and the single argument specified after the colon. The result is that ERC no longer works with Undernet, which is inconsistent with Freenode in its specification of arguments before or after the colon. The solution is to not distinguish between the two ways of specifying arguments, by eliminating the `contents' field of the parse structure, and simply appending the argument specified after the colon, if there is any, to the `command-args' list. This also requires, however, fixing all of the response handlers such that they no longer use the `contents' field. -- Jeremy Maitin-Shepard |
