I haven't had any time recently to work on this. Also, I had a boot disk crash so I am working on a different PC. I didn't lose any code or anything as everything is in git but I haven't yet reproduced my dev environment. This weekend is family stuff but I hope to make some progress on this next weekend.
By request, specifically https://sourceforge.net/p/eqbuttons/tickets/10/, I have created a new project, Alt Button, https://sourceforge.net/projects/alt-button/ .
This is mostly the same as EQ Button but it is only the window switcher. It has no buttons that can be sent into the application. It is just an always-on-top task switcher.
Right now this is still limited to switching eqgame.exe processes. I plan to modify it to allow you to associate any running program to a button. That way you could switch between games, browsers, apps, whatever. That's not high on the priority list but it will come eventually.
I got a request a while back that was a great idea. I had kind of thought about it too but it wasn't a priority for me until someone asked for it. Now that I have it coded, I love it! This is a significant change. I am uploading a new version (0.07) today.
If you select Keys->Return to Master, when you press one of the numeric buttons or the - and =, it will send that keystroke to the chosen window and then return back to the window that is at the first row of buttons. So the first row is basically, the master row. This would be the toon you are maining in your play session. If you press the name button (the button that defaults to eqgame.exe but can be renamed to your toon name), you go to that window and it does NOT return to master.... read more
I hope to have this uploaded tomorrow but in the mean time check out a video of how it will work.
I figure I will use this space to keep people updated on what is going on in the project. Coming soon, big issues, etc.
Right now I am working on adding the ability to move the button rows around so 1 becomes 2, 4 becomes 1, etc. I have it working but there are some menu changes coming too. I am working on the save and restore part of the menus.
A change to the menu will be a way to turn off the "rename" button so it doesn't take up space. Also, the ability to move the button rows up and down are implemented via 2 new buttons. You'll be able to turn those on and off as needed. ... read more
