There was a change between gs 8.50 and 8.51 which breaks
usages with epsonepl.
http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=688048
The fix is already committed to gs, and will be integrated to
gs 8.53 (?the next release) when it is released.
That means, out of the recent gs 8.x releases, only 8.15
and 8.50 works unmodified (8.00 and 8.14 needs one
patch, 8.51 needs a different patch).
Special thanks to Till Kamppeter for tracking down segfault
problem of ghostscript on Debian to a KRGB patch that that
hpijs people recommends, and is shipped by Debian for a while.

ghostscript 7.22-8.14 has a bug,
where pages print black.
Sent in patch and fixed in March 204 in gs 8.14+;

Been very over-due. Last summer we say we would
release 0.4.0 when *6100L* support stabilises!
(and we have since added 6200L).
there was a serious bug with 0.4.0pre3 regarding
new 6200L support.
misc updates.
brought foomatic related XML files up-to-date and
synchronised with linuxprinting.org. Should help
CUPS integration.
6200L support added. not tested - YMMV.
experimental 6100L support; merges of
5700L usb-flow-control code, and misc improvements.
Bug fix with installation, and minor compression efficiency
improvement (slightly smaller spool file, at the expenses
of CPU cycles).
Just nicer packaging. See release note and
changelog.
Multipage jobs work. Paper size is selectable. Resolution, density, tonersave, ritech are selectable. Foomatic print system is now supported.
Known limitations: A4 600dpi only, and one-page print-jobs only.
Both the 5700L and 5900L can now be made to
work under linux.
5800L owner/tester wanted.
