No Log unless manually run

    Quick question...
I just set up a new to me system. When I run the .bat file manually, EPG Collector log fills. When I have the .bat file run by task scheduler, no log appears for that run.

I'm often near my computer during the scheduled times, so I see that it is running correctly.

I used the guide on this forum to set everything up, and admin privileges are set for the task.

    Thanks!

I think I may have found a hint.
I run the Zap2xml and EPG collector an hour apart. I noticed the XMLTV.XML file also wasn't updated when running with Task Scheduler, but updated when I run manually.

I did a search and the file was in C:\Windows\SysWOW64

    https://superuser.com/questions/1405443/windows-cmd-script-ran-but-no-output-file-saved-as-expected

I updated the zap2it .bat file to start in the folder where I want the XML files saved.

I think my question now is, what folder do I start EPG collector in? Am I on the right track?

Load up EPG Centre and View - General log.

There is a line that contains the data directory and that's where the log goes.

Does that mean if I start the .bat in the folder where the data directory is located, it will update the log?

Okay, I see that log, and the last time .bat file ran from Task Scheduler, it is in there.
I wasn't clear. It doesn't show up in "View History" when run from Task Scheduler, only when run manually.

Edit: I just ran it again from Task Scheduler, it doesn't show up in the log, or the View History.
If I run the .ini file from EPG Centre or the .bat file directly, then it will show up in the log.

When run from task scheduler, it runs successfully, but I have no way to check #of listings or end date of data.

    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    This is still unresolved.
When I run the .bat file manually, it's all good.
When I run the file through Task Scheduler, it shows it ran successfully, but the MXF file doesn't update, and the log doesn't show that it ran.
I was able to solve a similar issue with Zap2XML, but can't seem to find the solution for EPG centre.

It looks like it's finally working properly.
I added the path to epgcollector.exe "Start In...."
This is what also worked for Zap2XML
I didn'r realize I needed to close and restart EPG Centre for the history log to repopulate, or I would have seen this a few days ago.
Now I'm able to see it ran on the regulary scheduled Task Scheduler runs in addition to manual.

My system still isn't working smoothly. I'm not sure which part is causing it. Currently the Task Scheduler is running, and it appears the guide is updating automatically. The issue I have now, and I'm not sure if it's related, is new programs are not being "found" in the guide.

For instance, if I find a show in the guide that is scheduled to record, click on other showings, the following instances are not scheduled to record unless I do this manually.

I seemed to be having this issue on my Win 7 machine before I retired it.

I could cause the guide to find the new recordings by going into the series, and then saving, which would then find the new instances to record (on Win7)

Now I need to find and add the recording manually.

    Has anyone else seen this?

What logs should I post to help solve this?

    Post the EPG Collector log.

And the mxf file. It should be in the same directory as the log.

Give me an example of a series that doesn't record properly.

Attached are the latest log and mxf files from this morning.
An example of a show that should be set to record for a series is PGA Tour Golf - Genesis Invitational for Sunday Feb 19th. I had to manually add Feb 18th yesterday.

I did notice WMC crashed a few times when I was going into the series settings yesterday. I uninstalled and re-installed WMC from the Green Button latest link of a few weeks ago (after the crashes), and I don't think I've seen on since.

Something else is off, it appears. In WMC, for PGA Tour Golf listing, the description says "Final Round" for both Saturday and Sunday of the next 2 weekends. It should say Third round for Saturday.

Checking Zap2it shows the correct listing, is something happening on import?

Good news! I decided to set up the .ini file again to make sure I wasn't missing anything. After running it, there were new programs set to record on Feb 19th that weren't there this morning, nor did I set them up manually.
I'll keep an eye on it to see if this is solved.

Another day, another listing update. Yes! All seems to be working automatically now. A series was found that wasn't last week.
I was going off a printed instruction sheet from 2019, but the version of EPG Centre was older in the pics, so there were more boxes to check and I must have done something that was keeping it from doing what was expected.
